IndianDesalination AssociationInDA

Indian Desalination Association(InDA) was formed in the month ofSeptember 1991 in Madras (now Chennai) with the main goal for the developmentand promotion of the appropriate use of desalination and desalinationtechnologies nationwide in water supply, water reuse, water pollution control, water purification, water treatment, other water sciences and technologies andvarious solute-solvent separations.

InDA is growing and getting national &international recognition. It has its international bearing/ affiliation alongwith Asia Pacific Desalination Association (APDA) & InternationalDesalination Association (IDA).  InDAPresident has always emphasized the need to motivate and increase participationfrom younger generations in InDA activities. InDA President requested all themembers that the intense efforts should be put by all, towards creatingawareness amongst the people about water issues and to gather more and moremembers with a better representation of India in the world map as a whole.

Inthe last twenty two (22) years, the recognition for InDA has grown and the samecan be judged by the fact that other organizations like Desalination IndiaCongress, EA Water, WTR, Water Today, CHEMTECH Foundation (conductingseminars/exhibitions on water related issues), have approached InDA toassociate with them. InDA has been striving for societal cause. Its members arebeing increasingly associated with National Committees which prepare policiesand road map for fulfilling societal goals.

Thegrowth of the association is quite good with Life Membership number increasingto 302 from 274 i.e. addition of 28 new Life Members and 3 new CorporateMembers taking the total to 38 by the end of 31st March 2013.
